Cast your cares on Jesus

I am encouraged today by a great reminder found in Scripture. The Apostle Paul gives us a verse found in Romans chapter 8 verses 38-39. Not only is this a great reminder for me, but I hope it gives you something to think about on this Friday. As I think about following Christ, I know that I will mess up. I will mess up often! However, even though I mess up, being perfect is not what I was called to do in this life.(AMEN) I am not made to dwell on my mistakes, I am not meant to doubt myself, or God’s love for me. I am, however, meant to rely on God’s perfect love for me. If I am following Christ in all areas of my life, repenting, and carrying my cross daily then I am doing as I should. God’s love for me is greater than my doubt and anxious fear of losing God’s love. There is nothing I could ever do to earn my salvation, and thanks, be to Christ I will never lose His love for any mistake I make here on earth.
38 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers,
39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

As we make our way into this weekend, let us cast off our fears and doubts as we seek to live on God’s grace, mercy, and strength! Knowing that on our own, we do not possess, nor ever will, the strength to do this without the Holy Spirit guiding us along the way. Thank you heavenly Father for Your work in us, may we find our strength and refuge in You, and You alone. 2 Samuel 22:2
